Kerry is engaged!

We are very excited to announce that Kerry is getting married! He is marrying Shalisa Slagle. She is a young woman in our ward that Kerry has been dating for a year. He met her about a month after he got home from his mission. Her family moved here from Washington, while Kerry was on his mission. Shalisa is the oldest of 9 children. She is smart, and beautiful. She is so sweet to Kerry. She will be a wonderful wife and mother someday. They haven't set a wedding date yet. But they are thinking it will be sometime in March. We are excited to have her as a new addition to our family.
This is the only picture I have on my computer of Shalisa. I will get an updated picture of her and Kerry soon!

Night at the Steelheads Hockey Game

Kent was able to get us tickets to Saturdays hockey game against the Utah Grizzlies. It was a very fun game. Bill and I, Kent and his friend Monica, and Ashley and Josh went. We had so much fun. We love a good hockey game! Monica had never been to a hockey game before, so it was fun to watch her reaction to what was going on around her. There where 2 really good fights last night. A hockey game is not a hockey game without at least 1 really good fight. We got 2!!! Steelheads lost 2-0. But it didn't matter. It didn't keep us from having a fun night! Hopefully we will be able to go at least 1 more time before the season ends.

Stephanie Nielson

I was introduced to Stephanie Nielson (Nienie) blog by one of my friends. She is one of the most amazing women. She was in a plane accident. She was burned over 80% of her body. Stephanie defines what a good woman, mother and wife should be. She defines it in her every day life. In her thoughts and in her actions. Stephanie blogs almost every day. I enjoy and encourage everyone to put her on your blog list. She is an inspiration to me every day.

My Grinch size heart is growing!

I have never (even when I was a little girl) liked to dress up. In fact, when I shop for clothes I very seldom try anything on. I have always disliked Halloween because I had to dress up. That dislike has grown since I have become a mother. And I am now expected to find costumes for my children. I know I sound like the Grinch!
Something happened this year. I actually enjoyed Halloween!!! Weird! I have been collecting items for various costumes over the years. I keep them in a big black garbage bag. My kids took that bag out this year. They totally found their own costumes, while I sat and watched them. They had so much fun rummaging through this bag of clothes. I made a good dinner. We all sat down at the table and ate. No one was in a hurry. After dinner they dressed in their costumes and I drove them around to peoples houses that we knew. For the first time in 22 years of having children, I enjoyed it! There has always been alot of stess involved with Halloween. This year I didn't even think about it. Maybe my Grinch size heart is growing. :)
